Our Story
We started with a simple belief: great design should belong to everyone.
LightArtsy was born out of frustration. Not the dramatic kind — just the quiet, persistent frustration of walking into a beautifully lit restaurant, a thoughtfully designed hotel lobby, or a friend's apartment that somehow felt exactly right, and wondering: why is it so hard to bring that feeling home?
The answer, we discovered, was a gap in the market that nobody had properly filled. On one side: a sea of cheap, characterless lighting that prioritised price over everything else. On the other: extraordinary designs from the great European houses — Flos, Muuto, Louis Poulsen — that most people simply couldn't justify spending on.
In between? Almost nothing.
The gap we decided to fill.
We believed — and still believe — that the $150–$800 price range is where the most interesting design conversation should be happening. Where considered materials meet accessible pricing. Where a fixture can have a genuine point of view without requiring a second mortgage.
So we built LightArtsy to live in that space. To work with emerging designers who have something to say. To source materials that feel honest and age with character. To write about light the way it deserves to be written about — not as a utility, but as the single most transformative element in any interior.
What we believe.
- Light is the architecture of emotion. The right light doesn't just illuminate a room — it changes how you feel in it.
- Good design is not a privilege. Design literacy is rising. The expectation that beautiful things should cost a fortune is not.
- Restraint is the highest form of luxury. We don't chase trends. We make things that will still feel right in ten years.
Where we're going.
LightArtsy is a young brand with a long view. We're building something that we hope will become the first name people think of when they want lighting that's genuinely designed — not just manufactured. A brand that earns its place in your home, and keeps earning it every time you turn the light on.
